Given Name: Katherine "Kat" DeSilva
Mutant Name: "Bubble". Ok, it's cheesy! Unfortunately, some people call her "Bubbles".
Species: Mutant
Gender: Female
Age: 16
Year in School: Sophomore (late-starter, had to wait for the next school year for kindergarten)
Powers: Kat can create an inpenetrateable transparent force-field around herself, generally manifesting about three inches from her skin. This has the secondary effect of her being able to use this to slide about as if she were on a frictionless surface (which unfortunately means there's no way to stop other than crashing). She has also found that the force-field is also uncompressable, at least so far, and also seems to protect her from rapid acel-or decellerations. The main limitation to this power is that no air (or sound) can enter or exit the field, and thus the supply of air inside is limited to about a minute total and then she is likely to pass out as the oxygen runs out inside the bubble (which turns off the field). Producing this field is taxing, perhaps it will come easier with practice... it takes several minutes of rest between force bubble generations.

Personality: Kat would very much prefer to be quiet and introspective, but she has unfortunately been cursed with a mutant power that makes her involuntarilty quite noisy and destructive. Her force field tends to manifest itself in stressful situations, thus making her bounce off things... things that might be fragile. This began a negative-feedback loop... Kat gets nervous, the field appears, wacky hijinks ensue, and people around her are either amused or shocked. Either way, Kat was becoming more nervous. Though she feels somewhat safer at the school, Kat is resigned to the fact that most every encounter she will have during a day will result in something embarassing. Needless to say, she's working on having a stomache ulcer at 16.
Appearance: Kat is a slim girl with olive skin and an oval face framed by shoulder-length blue-black hair that she generally wear pulled back. Her nose is medium-sized and slightly turned down at the tip. She tends to be athletic-looking, though she is just naturally blessed with a good metabolism.
History: Kat's life was fairly uneventful before puberty, she was a normal if fairly-bright kid who did well in school and tended to be moderately popular. Unforunately, one summer (that coincided with a growth spurt in several places) her power manifested for the first time. The DeSilvas were worried that Kat would unfortunately be too destructive to return to public school, but fortune would smile on them... they were able to enroll Katherine in Xavier's school. She has been at the school for a bit, trying to find a way to fit in even among the mutant outcasts.
