The day was young, the sun was shining through the windows, and the teen lazily dragged her bare feet across the floor. The girl had decided that waking up so early would be useful. With a pencil behind her ear and sketchbook in hand, it was easy to recognize her, she was always carrying her drawing supplies. Then again, it was part of her mutation. And she refused to leave her sketchbook just sitting around. Sure she wasn't going to be drawing at all, but it was habit.
Jo was wearing a short sleeved black shirt, which also had a hood. Pulling it over her head, she pushed up her glasses which had been slipping down her nose. Her pants her black and baggy on the lower part of her legs. Yawing slightly, she came into the commons and then, in a burst of speed, she ran at the area around the television. Right ahead of the couch, she leaped over it and plopped her ass on the soft furniture. Then bouncing up to her feet, Jo snatched the video game controller up. Pushing a button on the GameStation and then the TV, the video games were ready to roll. She fell back into the couch and clutched the controller.
It was a fighting game that she had decided to play, and then after going the menu she started to fight. At first she tried to push all the buttons like the manual said, but after a short while and a few lost matches, she was furiously pushing all the buttons. Ah, button mashing, one of life's easy ways out. Jo laughed quietly as her character punched and kicked his way through foe after foe. Then the low game voice spoke, "Final level.". Jo smiled deviously and giggled again, "Yea!! In your face game!" She didn't even care if anyone was watching her, she was totally engrossed in her game.

George snorted as she heard a voice erupt from the common room. She scuffled from her room towards the sound of the voice. She was wearing a long-sleeve shirt, because her best friend is Lily AKA Red, and pajama bottoms. She ran her fingers through her choppy black hair and rubbed her eyes. "Who wakes up and makes all this noise in the morning?" The truth was that George was a light sleeper and the slight noise wakes her up, so it wasn't this kid's fault she woke up.
She rounded the corner and watched the kid engrossed her game, whoop and holler at the inanimate object. She was only 16, but George called everyone a Kid. She could never get into video games, she just never saw the appeal of them. But this kid seemed quite enthralled so George being the friendly person she was decided to join her... It didn't look she was going back to sleep anyway.
She quietly made her way to the couch and hopped over the back to plop down. She had just woke up and yawned to prove it. Folded her long legs Indian style and watched the TV. She wrinkled her oddly shaped nose, to fight the impending yawn. "Hey Kid, whatcha playing?" She asked in a half-yawn. Who wakes up to play games?

It was a rush. Her fingers hurt, her hands felt like they were going to cramp up, and she was growling softly. Yes, this is when one truly knows that Jo is completely focused on gaming. The fighting game she had was new, and she was close to beating it with her personally favorite character. She didn't even think about the fact that she could be waking people up. Nope, not one bit. The sun was up anyways, it was time to get up.
Oh... she was getting close. The boss had beaten her once, and she had killed him once, meaning the next KO was the win. The clock was going down... 1:00 left. Her health was lower, meaning she had to kick some ass to win. A girl had entered the room, but Jo didn't notice. 0:30. Punch, punch, kick, jump, roll, combo, dodge, click, click, click. The girl was now coming up to her and came over the couch and took a seat next to her. Jo's blue eyes were wide with energy and motive. 0:10.
"Hey Kid, whatcha playing?"
Then, Jo smiled, her character pulled off a powerful special move. Which completely drained the boss' health. And just in time, with seconds to spare. Then there a was a victory cut-scene, which continued on to the credits. "OH YEA!" Jo yelled in victory. She then realized this other girl was there, cause her to become a little embarrassed. She chuckled slightly as she looked around, avoiding eye contact. "Uh... oh, I'm playing this new fighting game that came out a few days ago. And I finally beat it for the first time." Then something came to mind. "Oh! Did I wake you up?! Sorry 'bout that. I was just so excited to beat it that I couldn't sleep."
Rubbing the back of her head, Jo chuckled softly. Looking to the teen, she smiled. She hadn't really socialized with any students since she just came to the school a few weeks before. "So...." She knew she should make an effort to make some friends. Well this girl seemed nice, maybe they could be friends. "What's your name? And..." She hoped she wouldn't sound too nosey asking, "What's your power?" Jo waited anxiously for an answer, smiling at George.

George didn't even flinch when the Kid jumped up and screamed. The TV screen flickered with so many lights and whatnot, George was sure she was suffering epileptic shock, or something. She ran her fingers through her hair and yawned again.
"Uh... oh, I'm playing this new fighting game that came out a few days ago. And I finally beat it for the first time...Oh! Did I wake you up?! Sorry 'bout that. I was just so excited to beat it that I couldn't sleep."
George nodded. The Kid was excited she could see and she wasn't going to knock her for it. To each her own. She wasn't too upset that she had woke her up. "It's ok. I'm a light sleeper. something was bound to wake me." George could tell this kid hadn't socialized with many of the other students yet.
She sighed. It seemed she was like the resident 'make loners feel less alone' person. It was like her job. She couldn't not do it. It probably started with Lily AKA the Grim Reaper looking kid. George stretched and yawned again. It was hard to be friendly so earlier in the bloody morning. But it was her job...
"What's your name? And...What's your power?"
At least the kid was making it easy, unlike Clocks. "Georgina Umbram, AKA George, mutant name Amnis." George said mechanically. "My power? I can manipulate water molecules. And yes it was me that destroyed the kitchen. I had a good reason." George frowned. The kid seemed anxious. It was kinda weird, but she shrugged it off. They were all 'weird'. That's why they're here.

"It's ok. I'm a light sleeper. something was bound to wake me."
Jo smiled and chuckled softly, that was a good thing. Being new, she really didn't want to make any enemies with things that she did most of the time. Such as play video games. It was one of her hobbies, and didn't want to play less because it bothered a lot of people. Maybe she could even find a buddy to play games with eventually. Well, that was if Jo would make an effort to befriend them.
"Georgina Umbram, AKA George, mutant name Amnis."
Jo nodded. It was nice to find someone who didn't go by their full names, and her nickname was more of a guy's name like herself. Then she waited to hear what her power was. Jo was very excited about this, she had never really gotten to socialize with other mutants. And, well, it felt good that she wasn't a 'freak' at the school.
"My power? I can manipulate water molecules. And yes it was me that destroyed the kitchen. I had a good reason."
Wow, an element manipulator. Jo had heard a lot about them, mostly the pyros though. It must be neat to get to control an element like that, Jo though to herself as she stared at George. Well, Jo figured she might as well share too. "My name is Josephine Sarica, call me Jo though. Mutant name is Sketch" It was fun to share things like this to the teen. Where she came from, you might as well talk to a brick wall. No person wanted to hear about a mutant, they were 'unnatural'. Jo gave a slight sigh, but then quickly smiled. Now wasn't the time for thinking of the negativity of the past. Then Jo narrowed her eyes slightly, how was she supposed to explain her powers? It was hard to put the specifics into words. "I'll show you my power..." Jo scrambled about the couch, looking for her book. She finally found her sketchbook, which she had been sitting on. Grabbing a folder from inside the book, she flipped through the drawings. They were quite realistic looking, but if you told Jo they looked really good, she would refuse.
Pulling out one that had a drawing of a bottle of chocolate milk, Jo also snatched up her pencil. "Okay, here we go..." Setting her pencil on the sketch, she closed her eyes to focus. Jo then pulled up, her pencil bringing up a bottle just as pictured. Grabbing the bottle, she started shaking it up. She then opened it and took a swig. "I can make drawings reality in simple terms. But the sketch has to be in pencil and has to be done by me. And the sketch can only be used once." Jo sighed and took another drink. She then looked over at George and smiled.
"Soooo... why'd you blow up the kitchen anyways George?" Jo asked in a joking manner.

George watched in amazement as Jo -Sketch - the Kid, pulled out a drink from her sketchbook, then drink it. Now, George had seen some crazy things. She had been the creator of much of that crazy stuff. But this was a first.
"I can make drawings reality in simple terms. But the sketch has to be in pencil and has to be done by me. And the sketch can only be used once."
"Wow," she muttered. "That's a cool power... Do your drawings take on the actual physical properties?" She asked excitedly, grinning. "Sorry I'm a nerd when it comes to the ins and outs of mutant powers. I want to know everything about them, Kid." George was probably going to call Jo 'Kid' forever now. She never really called people by their names. Lily was the exception. But she met Lily when she first got to Xavier's, so that's special.
"Soooo... why'd you blow up the kitchen anyways George?"
George groaned, of course with a smile on her face. "I didn't exactly blow up the kitchen." She scratched the back of her head and looked at Jo. "I pulled the water pipes out of the wall. Then made a wall of ice." She made a face. "But you asked why. Well, you might of heard of her, Lily?"
She didn't wait for the Kid to respond. "Well, Lily AKA Red, when she touches people she drains their life force." George sighed. Lily was her best friend. She admired Lily and cared deeply for the girl. George would do anything for her to make life easier. She might even be developing a crush on her. Not that the prankster would ever admit to it.
"Anyway," George shook her head and smiled at Jo again. "Because of that people are cruel to her. I witnessed it shortly after I met her in the kitchen. She was about to lose it. I stepped in sprayed some people and destroyed the kitchen. Coach Alex was not happy about that..."
George stretched and laid out on the couch, careful to keep her feet to herself. "So Kid, you plan on playing games all day? You should meet some of the other students." George yawned.
