[Lily]

[continuation from the human visitor thread]

"Uh.. well, I just got here and I really don't know my way around. Where do most people congregate?" he asked.

"Uh... well You are really asking the wrong person. But they do tend to go to the kitchen, or Java Junkie..." she said, still smiling.

He let go of her and turned to Lana. "Hey Lana! Lily's going to show me around a bit!" He said. Lana nodded, and he turned back to Lily. She could swear he shivered or something. "I suppose you should call me.. Taylor Klein?" He said, and then took her hand and lead her out of the common room. She laughed softly and smiled up at him, he was so tall....

Once they got out of the common room he stopped and lifted Lily's hand. She couldn't figure out what in the world he had up his sleeve..... But then he took off the glove and laced his fingers with hers. She smiled and lead the way, on to Java Junkie.

"It's a little bit of a walk..." she warned as they made their way through the halls.

[Lana and Warner.]

"It's a little bit of a walk..." she mentioned as they began down the halls. "I don't think it will take long with you by my side.. As they say: 'time flies when you're having fun.'"

They paced over the campus and Warner was amazed at how large it all was. Lana was right though, this place would take more than one day to cover. Especially when there was a whole underground section that went along with it. He enjoyed being with Lily though, she was different from other girls in his highschool. Perhaps the word was innocent? No, she seemed more experienced in life than he ever would be. She knew the power of death..

Just as he predicted, it wasn't long until they reached the "Java Junkie". As Warner looked around, he was surprised that mutants would hang around in such a normal place. Then again, they were people too, right? "Anyone you know here?"

[Lily]

"I don't think it will take long with you by my side.. As they say: 'time flies when you're having fun."

Lily laughed softly and continued on their way. She smiled as they past the beautiful lake, and then the garden. They then left the school grounds and were headed into town. Alot of times the town creeped her out. Especially at night, as there were usually homeless people, or weirdos out. She was glad that she had Warner with her..... she hated going into town alone.

"Anyone you know here?"he asked as they walked into the shop. She sighed as she saw a familiar group of girls sitting in the back corner. They were the ones that George had froze to death the night they ruined the kitchen... It was funny how they still hadn't been punished for that.

She shook her head sadly. "No, I'm sorry. To tell you the truth, not alot of people in school like me very much... and well some of my biggest haters are sitting in that corner.." she said, her head motioning non-chalantly to the right hand corner of the coffee shop.

Unfortuantely the girls must've noticed her, for they were all gasping and pointing, and whispering... Undoubtedly it must've had something to do with her being in public, her holding Warner's hand, or Warner in general. They were sure to think he was cute.

[Lana and Warner.]

"No, I'm sorry. To tell you the truth, not alot of people in school like me very much... and well some of my biggest haters are sitting in that corner.." Warner looked up to the girls who whispered and smiled at him. He ignored them bluntly and instead pulled out a chair for Lily. If they didn't like her, he didn't like them. "Don't worry," he whispered to her with a smile, "they can't use their powers either if everything is as we think.."

He waved down a waiter who appeared quicker than usual. Warner guessed he'd had a few run-ins with mutants before and so he learned to be quick. "What do you want Lily? It'll be my treat!" The waiter stood ready with pen and paper. "You can get anything you want," Warner added.

[Lily]

"Don't worry, they can't use their powers either if everything is as we think.."

He pulled out a chair for Lily, and she sat down, smiling up at him. "Well maybe I'll keep you around more often..." she joked, laughing softly.

A waiiter appeared in record time as Warner flagged him down. "What do you want Lily? It'll be my treat! You can get anything you want," he said politely.

Lily looked at him skeptically. "A strawberry smoothie, please.." she said softly. She didn't want to hold up the waiter.. She would most likely argue with Warner later. It was impolite to let him pay for her drink..

But he did impress her. He was being so polite.... and the way he ignored those giggling girls truly amazed her. It was as if they didn't matter to him.... as if he only paid attention to Lily. But that was a selfish thought, and Lily quickly renderred it not likely.

[Vincent]

Vincent had headed for the Java Junkie. He went their usually, reading a book along with it. This was his weekend basically. Either him in the library, or him in some place where he could read books.

He walked to the counter, ordered a drink then sat down near the window. He had heard people talking, familiar voice that he heard in the library before. He shrugged, nothing really to do.

He pulled out a book from his bag. The Bourne Betrayal. The book had been alright so far, as the other ones in the series were. He felt weird when he walked in the store though, but ignored it.

[Lana and Warner.]

"What about him?" Warner whispered to Lily as he nodded his head towards the boy who had just entered. He was definately a mutant, Warner could sense it. The girls in the corner had the same.. feeling. The waiter on the other hand, he was plain, normal, the same as all his other friends. Well.. most of them. There was a girl at his school who seemed to have the same aura. She was a bookworm, like Lily, but she remembered everything she ever read. It was amazing..

The waiter had dashed off when Warner informed him he didn't want anything and as soon as he had gone, he had dashed back with Lily's smoothie. He must have owned this place for a long time to be that quick.. "He seems like a good candidate," Warner continued, speaking in hushed tones so the boy couldn't hear him.

[Lily]

"What about him?" warner asked in a whisper. Lily shrugged. She had seen Vincent around school, but had never really spoken to him. She was almost sure that he had the power of walking through walls and other solid objects. "Well, we could ask. But I've honestly never spoken to Vincent before..." she replied in a whisper.

The waiter was back in record time with her smoothie. She thanked him politely and took a small sip. She noticed that Warner hadn't ordered anything, and was immeadiately distraught. "He seems like a good candidate," he added in the same tone.

Lily leaned forward. "I suposse...." she said absentmindedly. But her thoughts were still worried about how impolite it was to have him pay for her drink, and himself get nothing. "Will you let me pay for my drink?" she asked, not meaning to be rude at all. "I mean... You didn't even buy anything... So it's rather silly for you to pay for something that you didn't even get to enjoy. It's a nice gesture, and I really apreciate it... but I just feel rude..." she explained, hoping Warner wasn't offended.

[Lana and Warner.]

Warner laughed, "I'll consider it.. for now we aren't leaving so let's talk to umm.. Vincent right? Then we'll worry about paying." He was surprised she was so distraught over it. He'd been pressured by girls to not pay before, but this was on a different level. She seemed.. desperate. "Come on, don't worry about that now. He set his hand over her own and gave her a comforting smile before standing to walk over to Vincent.

"Hi there," he began with a friendly grin, "Umm.. listen, I'm kinda new and I want to see how my power works. I can only use it around other mutants.. I promise it won't hurt." He dug his hands further in his pockets, "If you give it a go, I'll buy your drink for ya." It was odd to do this for a guy, but he was helping them out and it was the only thing he could think to give in return.

[Vincent]

Vincent sat back and relaxed. He was feeling alright that day, no one else bothered him, he had a nice drink in his hand, and it was a nice day. He continued to stare out the window, until he heard foot steps and a voice.

"Hi there, Umm.. listen, I'm kinda new and I want to see how my power works. I can only use it around other mutants.. I promise it won't hurt.If you give it a go, I'll buy your drink for ya."

Vincent wasn't really sure what to do. The first thing that came to mind though, was how the hell did he know he was a mutant. He shook the thought away. Should he help the guy, or just leave him alone. He sighed but took the first option. He couldn't just not help the guy.

"What do you need for me to do?" Vincent asked.

[Lily]

Lily sighed. She really wanted him to let her pay, but she stood up and walked over to Vincent with him.

"What do you need for me to do?" he asked.

"Well... just try and use your powers really. There isn't much to it." she said softly, her hands folded at her stomach. She smiled slightly, though it was forced. She stood and waited for them to respond, even though she really wanted to sit down.

Warner nodded at Lily's comment, "You see.. we think I have a cancellation power that stops mutants from using their powers. The thing is, I'm not sure if that's really what it is.." He grinned, feeling bad for interrupting his quiet book reading, but the last thing he would do would be to try and talk to one of those pathetic girls in the back corner. Right now, this guy was their only hope..

Warner wanted to sit, but thought against it since he didn't really know Vincent or anything. "By the way.. my name's--" he stopped, feeling bad for already interrupting his alone time, "..Warner Black." He couldn't lie. He would feel worst telling him later that he had lied. So he gave up the truth, not knowing if he would even recognize the name. Though, he probably would since Lana had been around for years now. Not to mention how sociable she could be.

[Vincent]

"You see.. we think I have a cancellation power that stops mutants from using their powers. The thing is, I'm not sure if that's really what it is.."

Vincent sighed. So he was just basically a guinea pig. "Fine." Was all he said. He put his hand on the table. He focused, and tried to use his power....but to no avail. He picked his hand up, stared at it, then grabbed his book. He shook his head to the guy. "Apparently, your powers do cancel out others..." He then went back to his book.

"By the way.. my name's--..Warner Black."

Vincent didn't even look up from his book. "Vincent Hyde."

[Lily]

"Apparently, your powers do cancel out others..." He said, and then went back to his book. She could tell that Vincent didn't want to be bothered. She knew the feeling... just wanting to read and block out the rest of the world.

She tugged at Warner's sleeve. "Thanks Vincent, you helped alot.." she said with a sweet smile, knowing he probably wouldn't look up or answer her. She took Warner's hand and lead him back to the table.

As she sat down she watched him. "That was nice of Vincent.... I forgot how much he didn't like to be social. He's usually all alone in the library..... " she said, taking a small sip of her smoothie.

[Lana and Warner.]

"Fine," Vincent replied as if they were going to wrench his arm off. He certainly wasn't a pleasant or optimistic fellow. A disappointed look crossed Warner's face although he was glad Vincent accepted. Warner observed intently as he set his hand to the table, it seemed as though he was just trying to push the table into the ground. "Apparently, your powers do cancel out others..." Vincent finally replied, after resuming his book. Once Warner had introduced himself, he simply stated, "Vincent Hyde." There was no "Nice to meet you!" or "See you around!" it was just his name. Warner wanted to tell him how rude it was to completely ignore others, but he had helped him and for now, that was enough.

"Thanks Vincent, you helped alot.." Lily said quickly and Warner concurred, "Yeah, thanks Vincent. I owe ya one." Lily grabbed his hand and pulled him back to the table. Though she sat, Warner stayed standing at the side of the table. "That was nice of Vincent.... I forgot how much he didn't like to be social. He's usually all alone in the library..." Warner nodded in agreement, "Yeah." He took a glance back at the boy who was obviously overwhelmed in his book once more. Warner sighed and spoke to Lily again, "I'm going to go pay for his drink right away okay?"

He walked over to the counter and whispered to the waiter, handing him money. The waiter, who was most likely the owner as well, nodded and cashed the money. Once he was done, he tried hand some change back to Warner but he just gave it back to him for a generous tip. He walked back to Lily and grinned. "All set! Want to head back to the Institute? I have a feeling my sister just remembered that she was supposed to show me around.." He gave her a handsome smile and held out his hand.
