Kat took the last of the chibi dragon statues out of the box that her mother had sent from home and arranged it with the others. It wasn't much, but it made the room... at least her side of it... into something a bit more like home. She tossed the now-empty box toward the door, she'd recycle it later... but for now she decided to vegitate for a bit. She sat on the edge of her bed for a moment and kicked off her shoes, then spread out on the somewhat-threadbare comforter she had brought to the school some time ago. "Are there really people here who go on missions, who know how to use their powers? Maybe I should... I might be useful someday." she asked herself. She looked at the other bed, across the room. "I wonder who'll they'll assign here? Someone new, I guess." She laughed, at herself. "Probably there are lots of kids who would kill to have their own room.. I wonder who George and Mopey got stuck with?"

George walked down the hall. She hadn't met her roommate yet. She wasn't really looking forward to it. That's why she was wandering down the hall to visit Kat, who was lucky enough to be spared the whole roommate shuffle. Kat was probably unpacking, so George thought it would be a good time to bestow her pleasant presence on her friend.
The door was open and George leaned in, grinning. The girl was lying on her bed staring at the empty one. "Happy Room-warming!" She exclaimed none to quietly. She proceeded to enter the room. "I got stuck with a kid named C.J. I haven't met her yet though." George had heard Kat's muttering while she stood in the door.
Looking around, George nodded. Half the room was desolate looking. But Kat's half was pretty welcoming. "I think your other spouse was paired up with Ascher..." George made a face. Mopster was going to have a ball, but mostly likely Clocks would knock the kid down off his pedestal. She hopped onto Kat's bed. So what's up?"

Surprised, Kat's forcefield popped on and she slid off the bed to end up in a nearby corner. "What'd you... oh, it's you." Once she was sure the field was off, she rose again. "Welcome to... whatever it is. Home, I guess." She nodded at George's report of her roommate. "C.J., huh? I suppose I'm lucky... Hey, if you need somewhere to hide people, I have a spare bed for now."
I think your other spouse was paired up with Ascher." George mentioned Clocks.
"Hmm. Don't know him either." Kat responded. "That reminds me, though... where's our honeymoon? Las Vegas, I guess?" she joked.

"Welcome to... whatever it is. Home, I guess.....C.J., huh? I suppose I'm lucky... Hey, if you need somewhere to hide people, I have a spare bed for now."
George grinned widely and lounged on Kat's bed. She had decided not to poke fun at Kat's trip. "Home is it? You make such a lovely little housewife!" She teased. "Mopey's the murderer. I won't need to be hiding people...ever" She said poking fun at herself. George was a busybody and since she arrived she hasn't had time to involve herself with ...er...the slim pickings. But Lily's life was interesting enough.
"That reminds me, though... where's our honeymoon? Las Vegas, I guess?"
Raising an eyebrow at Kat, George smirked. "Honeymoon? In Las Vegas? Testing my fidelity already dear?" She cooed. Pursing her lips, George became thoughtful. "Although, I wonder how faithful a person is when she is in a threesome..." She grinned at the thought.

"Mopey's the murderer. I won't need to be hiding people...ever" George had said.
Kat laughed. "I mean a... well, whatever. Like, some where to take someone for pivacy away from a roommate. I can make myself scarce in that case." She scratched her nose. "I guess I could watch, though. Maybe pretend to sleep and listen."
"Honeymoon? In Las Vegas? Although, I wonder how faithful a person is when she is in a threesome..."
"Well, when we have to go somewhere. That seems like the best place, but if you have somewhere else in mind..." she teased back. "Why wouldn't we be faithful just 'cause there were three of us? Less work, I guess. Though I suppose it does make it harder to fit in one bed."

George scoffed. "I promise that won't be happening any time soon." She stretched on the bed, but made no move to get up. It was quite comfortable and George suddenly grew sleepy.
"Why wouldn't we be faithful just 'cause there were three of us? Less work, I guess. Though I suppose it does make it harder to fit in one bed." "I suppose I should have one custom made." George chuckled. "Mopey would probably sleep on the floor to keep from being huggled" She grew thoughtful. "We could go to Paris." She said idly. George smiled and wrinkled her nose. "Or was I supposed to say something horribly romantic, like 'As long as with you two it will always be a honeymoon?" She cackled.

I promise that won't be happening any time soon."
Awww... poor Georgie. I guess we'll have to find you someone." Kat teased again. "Oh, you already have two someones. Lucky you."
"We could go to Paris. Or was I supposed to say something horribly romantic, like 'As long as with you two it will always be a honeymoon?"
"Nah... then Jokey would puke all over the bed and my beautiful dress would get breakfast all over it."

"Nah... then Jokey would puke all over the bed and my beautiful dress would get breakfast all over it."
George grimaced. Vomit was always a gross thought. "Yeah, and our 15 clone children will have to recycle that dress." Sighing, she rolled over on her stomach. "I'm not looking," she muttered, then grinned to show she was fine. "Besides I'm sure you'll satisfy all my needs..."

"Yeah, and our 15 clone children will have to recycle that dress."
Kat pulled herself up fromthe floor and moved to sit on the corner of the bed, carefully not touching George. "Won't Mopey want beautiful clone boys like himself? I don't think they'll need a red wedding dress." She nodded. "Yeah, I think I won't be able to wear white".
"I'm not looking. Besides I'm sure you'll satisfy all my needs..." George seemed to joke.
"Oh, please... make yourself at home." Kat teased again. "Yes, well... not from lack of trying, but until I get a handle on my power not going off everyone surprises me or.. well, whatever... you'll have to be frustrated." She considered the thread of the conversation for a moment. "George... am I doing something wrong here?"

"Won't Mopey want beautiful clone boys like himself? I don't think they'll need a red wedding dress....Yeah, I think I won't be able to wear white".
George frowned. That was odd. "Why not? Are you not innocent enough?" That made her smirk. Not laugh because it was tasteless to laugh at her own jokes, so she tired not laugh at all her jokes. Kat continued to speak, George was pseudo-listening. But her mind was distracted. She wasn't really fond of the direction this conversation was going.
"George... am I doing something wrong here?"
Sitting up, George looked at Kat. She didn't really understand the question. George frowned, trying to think of how to answer the question. "No," she said simply, then gave herself a mental slap on the forehead. I don't think I thought hard enough...
George raised an eyebrow. "What could you be doing wrong?" It dawned on her that Kat might be uncomfortable. Nodding George slid off the girl's bed. "Sorry, I was just joking." She muttered and stood up. Unsure of what to do now, she stood there and stared at the floor. It would probably be best to just leave. She thought to herself and started for the door.

"Why not? Are you not innocent enough?"
Kat grinned despite her sober question of a moment ago. "Well... I imagine you and your boy will de-innocentize me. I mean... it's a long way to Paris, and I doubt you can keep your hands off gorgeous me."
"Sorry, I was just joking." George seemed to apologize, then started for the door.
Kat rose as well. "Wait... so was I. You don't have to go. What'd I do?" She sighed and moved to follow. "I'm sorry. Don't go."

"Well... I imagine you and your boy will de-innocentize me. I mean... it's a long way to Paris, and I doubt you can keep your hands off gorgeous me." George stopped, hearing the teasing tone again. It just confused her. "Wait... so was I. You don't have to go. What'd I do?...I'm sorry. Don't go."
She didn't really know what was going on. "You didn't do anything." George said softly. She turned, and grinned. It was weak grin and it didn't even reassure herself. Kat probably saw right through it. "I don't want you to feel uncomfortable around me. We don't have to joke that way if you don't want to.You are good friend!" George pulled Kat into hug, hoping they would go sliding off into a wall.

"You didn't do anything. I don't want you to feel uncomfortable around me. We don't have to joke that way..." George said, seriously, though she had put on a smile that was probably intended to be reassuring.
"Joke what way?" Kat interrupted, still not sure what she had done. "Oh, I know you and whatever-his-name-is don't like me like that. I didn't mean to make you feel like I was going to glomp you all the time or anything." She shrugged. "It's ok. I didn't... don't mind. It's fun. Guess it gives people something to talk about."
Kat closed her eyes as George moved near her, but she didn't seem uncomfortable... just concentrating. *No shield... no shield... no shield...* Kat thought, trying to tamp down her unconscious tendency to produce a protective bubble at times like this. She opened one eye as George successfully embraced her. "Oh, good." Kat said, returning the hug enthusiastically.

"It's ok. I didn't... don't mind. It's fun. Guess it gives people something to talk about." George noticed the odd look on Kat's face, but assumed it had something to do with her bothersome shield. "Oh, good." Kat's arms wrapped around her.
George relaxed. She had been through the losing friends thing before. It was hard on her, she wasn't sure if she could go through that again. After a small squeeze, George released Kat grinning a more normal 'George Grin'. "Good, we can continue being a happily married threesome."

"Good, we can continue being a happily married threesome." George said, seeming a bit relieved.
Kat was feeling better as well. She released George after a moment, then tapped her left ring finger. "Nuh-uh. No kissy without a rock, girl."
She jerked a thumb back towards the bed. "Come back and sit, unless 'C.J.' is waiting patiently at home with dinner on the table." That was probably going too far, but so long as the George's mysterious roommate couldn't hear, it was probably fine for now.
