Well I'd love to join I suposse... If it is alright with you and Lana. Lily had said.
"Well, of course. We want lots of people, so we can all help each other."
Kat looked between the other ladies... she had said something wrong somehow. Something about the accident in the kitchen... no, they were saying it wasn't an accident. 'Incident', then.
Stop blaming yourself George! We both know exactly what happened the other night... came Lily's outburst.
"Look, I don't think it was... everyone's fine, I think. Don't worry about it." Kat said softly, hoping to soothe Lily's nerves.
She sighed. "I'm sorry if I said something wrong. I was just trying to make conversation."

George pursed her lips, slightly irritated by the whole thing. Lily kept trying to take the blame for something she couldn't control. It wasn't her fault that kids like to pick on her, or that her mutant ability is dangerous. But she decided that it wasn't something they should talk about right now, and left it alone.
"Look, I don't think it was... everyone's fine, I think. Don't worry about it....I'm sorry if I said something wrong. I was just trying to make conversation."
She closed her eyes and shut away what she was feeling. When she did open her eyes she was smiling apologetically. "It's alright. It's understandable. We should find something else to talk about, though."
George clenched her jaw for a second. She didn't want to chase Kat off, or seem rude. But it was a touching subject. She grinned. "Now that Birdie's hooked up, we can focus on you Kitty Kat!" She said excitedly.

Lily nodded. She would probably join it..... and get James to. She smiled at that thought. It would be fun to be in a study group... with them all, and James. And he'd probably enjoy it also, seeming as his love for books...

"It's alright. It's understandable. We should find something else to talk about, though."
Lily nodded. "It's alright... You had no clue that we had a first hand encounter with it..." she said sympathetically. Lily's head lowered, and she stared at the smoothie in her hands. It was basically gone. But she wasn't trying to see how much she had left.. She was merely allowing her hair to hide her face... She felt embarassed for some reason. And the reason became apparent as George spoke.
"Now that Birdie's hooked up, we can focus on you Kitty Kat!" she heard George say, she sounded overly excited. Lily let out a small sigh.
"Technically I'm not hooked up.. I just like him.." Lily corrected softly, her head still down.

"Still sorry." Kat offered again.
"Now that Birdie's hooked up, we can focus on you Kitty Kat!" She did a double-take to George. "Wha'? That won't work... Warner's leav.. oh." She clapped her hands to her mouth. Why could she not stop these things from slipping out?
"Technically I'm not hooked up.. I just like him..."
She barely heard Lily's comment, unfortunately.

George leaned back in her chair with smug satisfaction. They were just making it too easy for her. She knew she wasn't the smartest cookie in the batch, so she must just be really good at reading people or these two were just am open book.
"Technically I'm not hooked up.. I just like him..." Lily had said.
"Well, Birdie it might as well be." George then looked to Kat. She didn't know Warner too well, but she knew he was a nice guy. "Warner, eh? Perhaps I should research the kid. Once I know more about him, you two will hooked up faster than you can say 'Lily and James sitting in a tree'" George grinned.
She looked at Lily who had her head bowed like always. "I wish she wouldn't look down so much, makes me feel like she ashamed of me..." George pouted. Every time George said something, Lily blushed and put her head down, it seemed.

"Wha'? That won't work... Warner's leav.. oh." KAT LIKED WARNER?! She laughed softly, she didn't know why, but she found it funny... "You like Warner?!" she said aloud, this time, though not as loud as she had thought it in her head.
"Well, Birdie it might as well be." George said, turning to Kat to harass her a bit. "Warner, eh? Perhaps I should research the kid. Once I know more about him, you two will hooked up faster than you can say 'Lily and James sitting in a tree'"
Lily sighed. "Warner is really nice... And why would anyone say "Lily and James sitting in a tree?!" That is just dumb...." she shook her head, slightly annoyed by George's grin.
"I wish she wouldn't look down so much, makes me feel like she ashamed of me..." Lily saw out of the corner of her eye that George was pouting. She sighed and sat up, hoping that her face wasn't very red anymore. "I'm not... I'm just embarassed..... " she said, making sure not to mention that she only did that whenever she was blushing, and didn't want anyone to see.

"You like Warner?!" Lily exclaimed.
"Shh!" Kat hushed. "Someone might hear!" She suddenly rose about two inches and then feel back to her seat as her power switched on and off. She sighed after she was solidly down again. "It doesn't matter anyway... he's leaving, I don't think Lana wants me to have anything to do with him, and besides, doesn't he like _you_?" That last question was directed at Lily.
"...'Lily and James sitting in a tree'" their other tablemate teased.
"Oh, c'mon. Don't make fun of poor Lily. If she likes someone, maybe she doesn't want it broadcast all over the planet, huh? I mean, we all have to live together. Maybe it's a secret between the two of them. I mean... what if you and Mopey were sneaking off to the movies or something. _He_ wouldn't want anyone to know. _You_ might not mind, but he'd want to murder you." Kat tried her best to say all that as gently as she could. She wasn't angry, she just wanted to get this idea across to the probably well-meaning George.

George had been laughing at Kat's embarrassment and Birdie's laughter, but at the last statement she frowned. "Why would Mopey and I sneak off anywhere together. He hates being on the same planet with me, why would he subject himself to the horror that is me for two hours?" She asked. It would be a fun way to torture the morbid being. But he probably didn't like movies anyway...

Lily laughed softly. "At first it seemed that way.... But we are more like siblings than girlfriend, and boyfriend...." she shrugged. "And i am pretty sure that he'll be staying a little bit longer...."

Lily laughed. "I haven't the slightest clue who Mopey is... But I can always pretend.... He's probably some sad, quiet guy, right?" she smiled. Those two were really odd.... But they seemed alot alike, more so than George and Lily.

Kat considered that for a moment, a bit of a smile drifted onto her face. "Really? Oh..." she shook her head. "It doesn't matter. Lana would shut it down... and he wouldn't like me anyway. There are much more interesting girls around here."

Kat shook her head again. "It was just an example. But maybe he does like you. How do you know? He seems like the kind of guy that you have to poke to get him to admit anything about his feelings." She smiled a bit. "He is nice looking, isn't he? Well... except for... you know." She pointed vaguely at her own face, near her eyes.
Lily seemed to enjoy the banter. "I haven't the slightest clue who Mopey is... But I can always pretend.... He's probably some sad, quiet guy, right?"
Kat nodded to Lily. "He doesn't need to be, though. He could probably have any girl in the school. Well, anyone that doesn't mind his weird sense of humor. Like, he was talking about making tea out of people..." She laughed. "... I started it, though."
She looked to George. "What about you? Who do you like, since we're on the subject."

George nodded. The whole missing eye thing was quite intriguing, and slightly disturbing. Clocks was gay, it wasn't her place to say so. So she just wrinkled her nose.

George looked to Lily. "Not really. He didn't want to talk to me, because...I am...me?" She shrugged.

George made a face. "Mopey wouldn't want the girls he attracted. He wants clone children...so anyone he does like would have to have the same weird fantasy." George shrugged. "I don't like anyone. Me liking someone would get in the way of me interfering with other people's lives." George grinned at Lily.

Lily laughed softly. "That is probably why James is afraid of you too..... He says energetic...." she said with a smile. She enjoyed talking about James..... Just thinking of him made her happier.

Kat looked between the other two, not really knowing much about what they were discussing, so she went back to eating the baked muffiny goodness she had purchased earlier.
"Mmn. Tickets?" She said with a half-full mouth. "Why didn't you get me some tickets?" Kat teased.

George just grinned. It seemed she dodged a bullet...only to catch another one. "Why didn't you get me some tickets?" Kat teased.
George made a face. "I was waiting until we eloped. I was going to get us tickets to Blue Man Group." She said. She looked at Lily who was probably lost beyond all reason. "Mopey, Kat and I are eloping." She explained. George breathed easier. She hated talking about her own dismal love-life. She was happy they didn't press the issue and for once in her life she stayed quiet.

"I was waiting until we eloped. I was going to get us tickets to Blue Man Group." George replied, and then looked to Lily. She was almost sure she had a look of bewilderment on her face. "Mopey, Kat and I are eloping." she said. Lily shrugged.
"Well don't forget to send me a Christmas card....." she teased, shrugging her shoulders slightly. Her mind wasn't really in the conversation.... Still fixated on other things of course.
