"It's up to you...."
He noticed that when he had said park, she just suddenly became deppressed. He didn't want to push it any further, if anything she would tell him later, or maybe not at all, but it didn't really matter to him. "We could go to the common room..." he trailed off.
"I have a question...do you like videogames?" He said trying to cheer her up, or help her think of something else. He began to walk to the entrance of the garden, and waited for her to follow him. He guessed that the common room was going to be the last place to go to, but he didn't mind, he'll just see her tomorrow.

"We could go to the common room..." he said. It was as if he knew that the park held bad memories for her. She smiled softly. "Ok..."
"I have a question...do you like videogames?" He asked. It sounded as if he were trying to cheer her up. She smiled more, and caught up with him as they left the Garden. "A little. I only like a few of them though..... Have you ever played Guitar Hero?" she asked, almost forgetting about the park. She did like to play Guitar hero alot.... though She mostly read... "But I mostly read.... So I haven't played any videogames in a while..." she added.
She smiled as they walked out of the garden. She would probably be coming back here more often.... The garden is a great place. And you could see the moon and the stars from where it was.
She shifted her heavy messenger bag from her left shoulder, to her right one. It seemed that it had goten heavier and heavier as the night wore on. Maybe she should take a few books out of there when she got to the common room. But her thoughts quickly turned from her bookbag to James as she caught up with him and they walked inside the school.

"A little. I only like a few of them though..... Have you ever played Guitar Hero?"
"Yeah, but I'm not so great at it, I am not really a guitar person, more like a violin." He said with a small laugh. It's true, he sucked at it. Well, not really sucked, but he can't go farther than the easy mode, and that is pretty sad in a gamers eye.
He noticed that Lily kept shifting her messenger bag, and decided to help. It was common courtesy after all. " Lily, you need help with your bag? I can carry it for you if you'd like." He asked. They continued to walk, as he waited for her answer.

"Yeah, but I'm not so great at it, I am not really a guitar person, more like a violin." He laughed. Lily smiled. She didn't really care if he sucked at it... So did she. "You play violin? That's awesome. I can't play any instruments." she said, focusing more on his talent, than the fact that he couldn't play Guitar hero on anything but easy. She wasn't to into it either, she just enjoyed some of the songs. "What about you?"
" Lily, you need help with your bag? I can carry it for you if you'd like." He asked as they walked on. She smiled bigger, but blushed. "That's really nice of you to offer..... But I can carry it on my own.... I'd hate to be a bother. Thanks though." she smiled sweetly still.
They walked on, and Lily could see the Common Room just ahead. She couldn't wait to get some of those books out of there. As her foot stepped to the ground and they walked on, the bottom of her messenger bag tore open. She had had the same bag for six years... it was bound to bite the dust someimte or another. She sighed as all of her text books, and three other pleasure reading books fell to the ground.
She bent down and stacked all of the books into a rather large pile. Why did she need so many books?! "Ugh... I knew it would bite the dust sooner or later. I've had it for six years." she laughed softly.

"You play violin? That's awesome. I can't play any instruments."
"Yeah. It's not so awesome when your forced to play, but when you get used to it, it's fun. And you should try an instrument, when I play, I feel calmer and more content." He said and smiled as they continued to walk to the common room.
"That's really nice of you to offer..... But I can carry it on my own.... I'd hate to be a bother. Thanks though."
He stayed quiet, most likely even if he asked again, she'd still say no. So they walked on. The common room door was visible now, and they walked closer to it. Before he was going to speak again, her bag broke, dropping all the books. He saw that she had bent down and put them in a stack. He was going to help her now whether she said no or not.
"Ugh... I knew it would bite the dust sooner or later. I've had it for six years."
He thought. She would need a new bag. He'd try and get one later but now he had to focus on the task at hand. He grabbed the books."I will help this time," he said, a smile plastered on his face.

"Yeah. It's not so awesome when your forced to play, but when you get used to it, it's fun. And you should try an instrument, when I play, I feel calmer and more content." He encouraged, a cute smile on his face.
She shrugged. "I would, but I don't have the slightest clue at what I would be good at.." she shrugged.
She continued to stack the books into a pile, when she saw James bent down and pick them up. "I will help this time," He said, still smiling. Lily laughed lightly. "I guess I'll let you...." she said, still laughing. But she took three books from the stack, and cradled them in her arms. "But I'm going to carry a few......." she smiled brightly. "Thank you..."

"I would, but I don't have the slightest clue at what I would be good at.."
He had thought about this, and remembered what his teacher had once told him. "Well, my teacher used to say, that for orchestra members, there were easy ways of telling what person can be good at what instrument. I never really believed him back then, but he did get me right on my instrument. Although, it was weird, because my hand didn't go with what he usually said it would."
He looked at her and smiled, this was going to be a long explanation. "Well you see, he said that small, slender hands, are usually great with the violin because the violin is pretty small, and the strings are, depending on the creator, more together. Long slender hands, were mostly good at the Viola, larger hands were good with the cello, and most tall people, with the right sized hands, which he didn't explain to me, were evidently good at the bass." He smiled again. "I'm babbling again aren't I?"
"I guess I'll let you....But I'm going to carry a few.......Thank you..."
He smiled lightly, "no problem," he said softly and started to walk to the common room. " If you need, I think I have a spare bag somewhere."

James explained, and then elaborated in detail, a small smile forming... "Well you see, he said that small, slender hands, are usually great with the violin because the violin is pretty small, and the strings are, depending on the creator, more together. Long slender hands, were mostly good at the Viola, larger hands were good with the cello, and most tall people, with the right sized hands, which he didn't explain to me, were evidently good at the bass." The smile seemed to grow as he was finished. Lily looked at him quizzically, wondering which instrument sounded best for her.
"Well... You know what my hands look like... What do you think I'll be good at?" she asked. She figured the violin sounded best.... And undoubtedly she would have a great teacher.. Who happened to be standing in front of her. But she wanted his opinion on the matter.
"no problem," His smile grew more as they picked up the books and continued on their way to the common room, now just feet away from the door. " If you need, I think I have a spare bag somewhere." He offered.
Lily smiled. "Thanks.. That's very kind of you. Would you mind if I used it... Just until I buy a new one of course...." she asked. It was a first.. Lily always enjoyed being very independent. She didn't like to borrow things from others... Or accept their money. But she figured that there was no other way... Unless of course she wanted to carry all of those books with her everywhere... And she wasn't very muscley, so that wasn't likely.

"Well... You know what my hands look like... What do you think I'll be good at?" "Well, to tell you the truth, I see the Viola, or the violin, and I am not very sure which one you could actually be." He said nervously. It was the truth, he wasn't so sure. "But, I have held a Viola and it does seem uncomfortable, even with the shoulder rest...so you can try the Violin if you'd like, I can help or lend you my violin." He said, the smile never fading.
"Thanks.. That's very kind of you. Would you mind if I used it... Just until I buy a new one of course...."
Now they were only a few feet from the door to the common room. What they were going to do there, well, he had no clue, but just chatting with Lily kept his smile up so he really didn't care. " Again no problem," he said. When they finally reached the door, he put the books down and opened the door. " After you," he said politely.

"Well, to tell you the truth, I see the Viola, or the violin, and I am not very sure which one you could actually be." He seemed nervous.... James didn't like to be put on the spot, or so it seemed. "But, I have held a Viola and it does seem uncomfortable, even with the shoulder rest...so you can try the Violin if you'd like, I can help or lend you my violin."
Lily smiled. "That sounds like fun.... See, you are already broddening my horizons.... Helping me become musical like this..." she laughed softly, though she sort of struggled with herself inside. She wanted to hug him, though it wasn't possible with all the books, but still. Girls randomly hug the guys they like all the time.... Lily couldn't do that, she could never tell when James' sheild was up... Why was she so deadly? She looked at James, and his unwavering smile broke her sudden sad expression, replacing it with yet another smile.
They had just walked up to the common room door, and James sat down his stack of books to open the door for Lily.... He was so nice... " Again no problem, After you," His tone was so polite.
For no apparent reason, Lily felt heat rising to her cheeks, knowing that they had probably just turned a soft pink. She giggled softly, and then walked in, sitting the books on an end table, and throwing herself gently on the couch. She was so tired, it had been a long day. "It's nice to sit down for a bit..." she commented aloud.

"That sounds like fun.... See, you are already broadening my horizons.... Helping me become musical like this..."
He chuckled, " Not really, I am just trying to cheer you up, but if you put it that way...well...I guess your right then." He said, a smile still on his face. He looked at her, she seemed sad, but it quickly shifted from a sad looking face, to a genuine smile. He smiled at this, something must have cheered her up.
When James had opened the door for her, he noticed she had blushed a bit. He wondered what had happened to make her blush, was it that he held the door for her? He always did it. He shrugged it off as he noticed that she went in the common room. She put down the books she had and sat down, he quickly followed suit.
"It's nice to sit down for a bit..."
He nodded, it's true, they had been walking for awhile. He sat back and relaxed. He was happy that he had met her, she made him happier then he already was.

" Not really, I am just trying to cheer you up, but if you put it that way...well...I guess your right then." He still smiled.
Lily laughed softly. "Well..... It's working, I do believe." she said, beaming still. It was true, James had made her alot more happier than she used to be.... She had smiled so much lately, that her jaw was beginning to hurt from all of the exercise. She giggled inwardly at this.
He gave a short nod to her last comment, and then relaxed on the couch... He seemed really really happy. "So, do you like the school so far?" she asked softly, rather unsure of what to talk about... She placed her hands in her lap, and absentimdedly fiddled with her glove. She was very comfortable, of course, but she was energetic for some odd reason.. and she had to move some.

"Well..... It's working, I do believe."
"Well, that's a good thing to hear." He said. He strecthed a bit, but started to actually get bored. He looked around, it was pretty quiet, and that was odd. Usually the common room was full of people, full of noise, but today, it wasn't. He sighed at this, it's like a ghost town, although there were a few people having small conversations here and there.
"So, do you like the school so far?"
"Yeah, it's nice here. Unlike at home were there were constant yelling, and constant annoyances, and small living spaces, this place is nice, large, and their are a lot of kind people...like you," he said. He made himself more comfortable, and just sat there, not really doing anything tapping his foot on the floor quietly.

"Well, that's a good thing to hear." He commented, stretching. A small silence fell over them... It was slightly boring, being in the common room all alone. There weren't many people in here, which was odd. Normally you could hardly hear. She sighed softly, growing a little bored.
"Yeah, it's nice here. Unlike at home were there were constant yelling, and constant annoyances, and small living spaces, this place is nice, large, and their are a lot of kind people...like you,"
She smiled softly. "Yeah.... My home was alot like that too..." she commented. "Thank you.... I'm glad you are here too... Who else would understand how much I love to read? Not George... that's for sure.." she giggled softly. She was really glad that he was here... She enjoyed his company alot, and he had definately brightened her day...

"Yeah.... My home was alot like that too..."
"...I guess we are slightly the same right?" He said, smiling. It seemed to be that way. They both had a love for books, they both seemed to enjoy each others company. He then sighed, "At least I am away from them though..." he mumbled quietly to himself.
"Thank you.... I'm glad you are here too... Who else would understand how much I love to read? Not George... that's for sure.."
He laughed at this, "I have a question about George...what fuels her? She is like a motor boat with a full tank of gas." He said. "And I guess your right, about the books."
